Lalo Schifrin may not be a household name, but he has written music for some of the most famous films to come out of Hollywood like Mission Impossible, Rush Hour, and the Dirty Harry series. Schifrin, who has won four GRAMMYs and has been nominated for six Oscars, is also an accomplished jazz pianist with a deep passion for the music dating back to his youth in Argentina. He recently released an engaging small group date called Lalo Schifrin and Friends. Schifrin spoke to About.com about the new album and his lifelong passion for jazz.
