Chicago Jazz Festival 2008

The 30th annual Chicago Jazz Festival will take place from August 28th through the 31st. Sonny Rollins kicks it off with a concert in Millennium Park on the 28th at 6:30 pm, and the rest of the performances will be held in Grant Park, right on the edge of Lake Michigan. Starting the 29th, you can catch music from noon until 9:30 pm in various locations within the park.

This year's festival will bring world class acts including Ornette Coleman, Vijay Iyer, Dave Douglas, Eddie Palmieri, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and many more.

The best part is, the entire festival is free. Grant Park is the perfect place to have a picnic and hang out on the grass while listening to some great music.
