The Festival of New Trumpet Music, or FONT, celebrates the diverse contemporary music scene. The series of concerts and panels seeks to showcase the singularity of creative music, regardless of genre.
FONT 2008 will take place in various New York venues from September 14th through the 28th, and the lineup is especially enticing for fans of modern jazz and experimental improvised music, as it will host performances by Dave Douglas, Ralph Alessi, Avishai Cohen, Ingrid Jensen, Jeremy Pelt, 2007 Thelonious Monk Competition winner Ambrose Akinmusire, and many others.
