2007 Blues Music Awards Winners

Presented by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee

The Blues Foundation announced the winners of the 2007 Blues Music Award winners Thursday night in a gala event in Memphis. Charlie Musselwhite took home four awards on the strength of his Delta Hardware disc. Irma Thomas also won multiple awards to sit next to her GRAMMY for her album After the Rain.

Guitarist/singer Tab Benoit won two awards: Contemporary Blues Male Artist of the Year and B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. Benoit commented:

“I appreciate these awards so much. This recognition helps me to bring attention to the wetlands of south Louisiana and to explain to more and more people that we need every ones help to save our land and culture. It was truly an honor to be recognized."
